At the start of 2016, Raison d’Etre hosted a press trip for international journalists from the UK, France and Italy to visit the first LivNordic land-based spa in Dubai.
Opening in Cayan Tower, the spa opened its doors to journalists from Porter, ELLE Italia and Le Officiel for an educational and invigorating spa experience. Beginning the trip with a visit to the gold souks and crossing Dubai Creek on traditional river boats, the journalists were shown the older side to Dubai, to get a sense of the city and how far it has come and the speed at which it has developed. Finishing with dinner at Pierchic, overlooking the Burj Al Arab, was a beautiful ending to our first day in UAE.
The next day was a full spa day at LivNordic. Set on the sixth floor of Cayan Tower, with views over Dubai Marina, the experience began with a guided Nordic Bathing Ritual from Managing Director Anna-Cari Gund, a light, nutritious lunch from the Spa Cafe, followed by a two hour face and body treatment for each journalist, who were able to select their treatment from the Spa Menu.
The whole experience was rejuvenating, relaxing and a wonderful insight into the LivNordic approach to treatments, experiences and overall individual wellbeing.
To round off the visit, we took a trip out of the city to the desert. The early start began with a traditional breakfast of Arabic coffee and flatbreads, while having the opportunity to ask a Beduin elder non-intrusive or personal questions about their lifestyle living in the desert. We were then led to a group of camels and enjoyed a wander through the desert on the rather bumpy ride, before being driven into the conservation area in a open top 1950’s Range Rover with our Platinum Heritage tour guide. The tour allowed us to learn about wildlife, local plants and how both aided Beduin desert life, before we wandered the sand dunes and took in the complete peace and tranquility of such an expansive piece of nature.
